Home - Lower Mainland Humane Society

The Dhana Metta Rescue Society has recently rebranded as the Lower Mainland Humane Society. When I was living in the lower mainland, I volunteered my time at the rescue where I would help socialize with animals, clean-up, do laundry, take animals to the veterinary for appointments or whatever was needed. I also helped by creating collages of the animals at the rescue to help with the rescue’s social media presence, pictured below. I would go with the rescue to community events to help educate the public on issues related to overpopulation and backyard breeding. It was inevitable, after a couple years I took home a palliative foster, named Chappy, pictured above with snow on his nose for the first time! I happily joined the “failed foster”‘ club!
