Below is an overview of some of the centre activities that were designed and implemented during practicum in a Kindergarten classroom:

Subtraction Activities
Students were provided with collaborative, open-ended activities to apply their skills related to subtraction. Below are some of the activities students could choose from:

-Subtraction Bowling: At this popular centre, students and their partner would play a modified version of bowling. Students were responsible for keeping score for one another and practiced crossing out bowling pins as they were knocked over.
-Tower Race: A pair of students each builds a tower of ten unifix cubes, students roll one die and remove the corresponding number of cubes. The first to remove all cubes from their tower wins!
-Reverse War: Lower card wins the war!
Popper Board Race: Students take turns rolling two die and find the difference between the two die (ie. 6-4=2). Then students get to pop the corresponding number on the board. First student to fill their board wins!
