First Aid Certification

I have held a valid First Aid Certification since 2005, as it was a requirement to be a qualified gymnastics instructor. Even though it is no longer necessary, I maintain my first aid certification because I feel it is my responsibility to ensure I can provide the best care possible for the children that are in my care. I think it also relates to being a responsible and well-educated member of society where people do their best to take care of one another. Teachers are often looked to in communities as role models and I think that if we want children to grow up to be adults that care about others and contribute to their communities, we need to model that behaviour ourselves.
