I am honoured and excited to be working and teaching from the current BC Curriculum, which has proven to be at the forefront of education on a global scale. I feel the focus on Curricular Competencies, rather than content, prepares students to have transferable skills that will help them navigate a quickly changing world. The BC Curriculum pairs nicely with Universal Design for Learning through the focus on open ended goals and personalized learning experiences. The Big Ideas and Core Competencies create wholistic learning intentions and creates a space where students can practice relevant skills that will be used in their academic and professional careers.

The development of these Core Competencies is a central feature to the BC Curriculum.
